push back (even if it’s just a tiny bit)

The summer is almost over. But since it’s inception I’ve had a annoying responsibility hanging over my head. I received a summons for riding my bike in the park after dusk, but the park was not just a park.

I was peddling through a greenway, which has 24/7 access. When I went to summons court I pleaded not guilty and since then I’ve been gathering evidence to state my claim.

It may seem like it’s not that serious but people sometimes are arrested for merely being in the park after the dusk. My intention is to push back, utilize the specific relationships I have to certain organizations and entities and hopefully create some kind of precedence with this particular park.

I’m also interested in making a video to share with folks and outline the process in which to pushback and challenge this petty claim. I think we need to exercise our rights in order to feel more adamant about expanding them.
